Poll of the Week: Why Pregnancy Rocks

July 25, 2009

As I enter my third trimester, my body is becoming more cumbersome. It’s harder to bend over to pick things up. It’s uncomfortable to sleep. I live in constant fear of developing cankles. And so on and so forth. But, at the same time, I feel great and I am still enjoying pregnancy to the fullest.

Reading back over a friend’s blog entry from a couple of weeks ago, I was inspired to sit down and write about why I love pregnancy (full post coming later) and thought I’d ask friends, family, and other random readers to chime in as well.

We all know the horror stories and details of the usual aches, pains, and discomforts, but parents — all of that aside — what was the BEST part of pregnancy for you?

I loved feeling Noah move in my belly. He constantly kicked me when he was in there, and now he kicks me with the same strong kicks while he’s breastfeeding. It made me feel like we were communicating!

Sure there were the usual aches and pains of being pregnant, and I had most all of them, but it still was the best time of my life. I loved felling the movement (oh it was a wonderful feeling), especially at night sitting in our rocker, to me that was the best thing ever. It is also the one think I really miss. I am reminded of it when I see each one of our daughter-in-laws and daughter pregnant. Oh how I miss that feeling of movement in me. I loved rubbing my extremely large tummy and talking to my children. I had some ruff pregnantency but if I could have had more I would have!
