Sling Diaries | FUN

August 9, 2012

We’ve been doing our best to settle into our new home in our new (old) city. We’ve spent our evenings cleaning and unpacking. We’ve spent our days setting up utilities and getting library cards and researching banks and credit unions. We’ve mostly spent our weekends catching up with family. And unpacking more boxes.

Oh my gods, the boxes.

This week, I decided it was time for some long overdue fun. So I reached out to some of my favorite Twitter peeps, we picked a day, and we all descended on Millennium Park with our littles. It was really cool to finally meet some of the people I’d been chatting with over the last couple of years. Water was splashed, hot dogs consumed, and I’m pretty sure everyone under 6 went home really, really dirty.

To me, that’s just the sign of a good day.

Thanks to Megan, Erin, Martina, and Kate for helping welcome me and my two native New Yorkers back to the motherland :) Let’s do it again, sometime!

This was such a fun day! What was really great was how well our dirty kids meshed and behaved. Let’s do it again soon. I had a blast. :)
