A couple of months ago, a friend of mine posted about why she blogs. Then posed the question to her readers - why do you blog?
I've been meaning to answer that question here since she posed it and only got around to it tonight -- more than four months later. Months in which I've been unusually quiet in this space.
Now I'm not sure whether the question ought to be why do you blog or why don't you, but I imagine the answers are intimately intertwined.

So it’s been quiet around here. Again. I guess that’s what happens when life gets in the way. Since Poppy’s arrival three years ago, October has become an especially busy time for us. This year it included: our annual family portraits, a superhero birthday party, my favorite three year old‘s birth day, a family wedding, a visit from our Brooklyn BFFs, and Halloween. Since moving home to Chicagoland, our diets have taken some hard hits. In Brooklyn, we had lots of options for our "weird" way of eating -- home cooking, whole foods, organic, mostly local, primarily vegetarian. Here? Not so much. We didn't realize quite how badly until we spent 6 weeks searching for tempeh. Once we realized we couldn't find it, we absolutely had to have it. Tempeh became our holy grail. Finding it would mean we could survive the suburbs; not finding it a major blow to our reacclimation.
